Quartermaster General: Prelude Expansion

Created by Griggling Games, Inc.

Prelude is adds 108 cards to the original Quartermaster General, providing a short mini pregame, which will alter the main game and provide greater variation between plays.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

"Unboxed" sets reward level now available, and cards only add-ons
about 6 years ago – Thu, Apr 19, 2018 at 10:47:09 PM

Hello Prelude backers!

I wanted to let you know that I've put up 5 copies of an "unboxed" complete set.

These are sets put together using spare parts for Alternate Histories and Air Marshal, but not the game boxes. I've priced them down a bit, and the shipping is down a bit too, so you'll save $7 if you switch (5 on set, 2 on shipping). Still only available in the USA.

By the way, as add-ons, I will be able to provide new "cards and rules" only worldwide. Basically, you would have to find your own airplanes, and chinese and french forces. If you've played one of many many similar WW2 games, you're likely to posses such a thing in plastic. (Ugly but functional.)

Below is a picture of the two expansions without the boxes.

Almost up on $7000! I'm thinking about promos for 8000 - I'll let  you know soon!

Until next time, thanks for your support -  this kickstarter is going so well because of you!

8000 Stretch Goal
about 6 years ago – Thu, Apr 19, 2018 at 10:45:51 PM

I've figured out what do for you all at $8000 - provide a printed manifest of the Prelude cards, to help you remember what Armaments "could be out there", or what History cards "have yet to be seen".

I've been stumped as to what to provide, so that's what I've thought up. If anyone has a better (and easily fulfilled low cost) promo, I'm open to your ideas!

Here's another card preview. It's a big payout, but you have to not only land on Hawaii, but hold it through an American turn. (Any playtesters will note that the VP bonus has increased, but the timing changed.)

10K stretch goal met! - -3 days left
about 6 years ago – Thu, Apr 19, 2018 at 10:27:59 PM

Hi Prelude fans

We met the 10K stretch goal!

Thank You!!!

For everyone who thought the USA's ability to level the axis ended with Alternate Histories, now you nuke someone:

While not as brutal as firestorm bombers, nuclear weapons were psychologically enormous, and hence the 2 VPs.

thanks!

$8000 Stretch Goal Achieved
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 04:12:03 PM

Hello Prelude Backers!

Well, we've blown past the $8000 mark this weekend, so I have to think up another stretch goal, should we reach $10,000! (I have some ideas, but I have to make sure the cost isn't prohibitive...) But maybe you all have some good ideas, so message or comment!

In the meantime, here's another preview card. Achtung! Panzer was Guderian's 1937 book outlining how tanks could best be used in combat. Might have helped if the French and British had read it - even if they didn't believe it, at least one might suspect Guderian did....

Thanks for your backing!

Next Stretch Goal - "Fortifications"
about 6 years ago – Sun, Apr 15, 2018 at 01:16:25 AM

Hello Prelude Backers

After struggling with a meaningful $10,000 stretch goal, I've figured out what I want to do. I'm going to give each team one fortification counter.

If your team's Fortification counter is available for use, on your turn, instead of playing a card, you may discard 4 cards from hand to place the fortification counter beneath your Army.

If your Army is about to be removed due to battle, lose the fortification counter instead (as a reaction). It's not an Air Force, so Air Attack won't counteract the fortification. A fortification is immediately removed if the Army it is beneath it is removed - you can't transfer it to another player. You can voluntarily remove the fortification counter. (So a teammate can spend the 4 cards on their turn. This hasn't been playtested, so I really don't know all the implications. I didn't want to give each country a counter or it would allow a "last minute point lock-down", which might help one side win in an unfun way.

Meanwhile, I got some printed proofs from the factory. As you can see, the cards all have a black border, so that it will be easy to tell if a Prelude card has been mixed into the regular deck.

More information soon! Thanks for your support! if we can get some more backers, we'll get the fortress counters and maybe even look to the next stretch goal!

thanks!
